Flakiness Index Test for Coarse Aggregates for Concrete 50

IS: – 2386 (Part – I) 2016 Method of test for aggregates for Concrete – Particle Size and Shape (Coarse aggregates)

The flakiness index of an aggregate is the percentage by weight of particles in it whose least dimension (thickness) is less than three-fifths of their mean dimension.

Fineness Modulus Test for Fine Aggregates for Concrete 49

Fineness Modulus of sand is a number which represents the mean size of the particles in sand. It is calculated by performing sieve analysis with standard sieves (4.75 mm to 150 micron). The cumulative percentage retained on each sieve is added and divided by 100 to gives the value of fineness modulus.
